It doesn't say but I have to think the Canadian ones have the same issue.

And so it begins, I honestly believe that this string of recalls is the start of the death of the automobile. Soon they will all be beige safety laden autonomous dishwashers.

I was at a local performance shop today that deal mainly with Subaru and Mitsubishi and this popped up on the tv in the lobby and at the same time all the guys in there declared "No shit! We live in Michigan"

the door closed sensor fell off my washing machine and into the drum. Pretty sure there's a recall for that.

From the source article:

"Subaru says it discovered the potential problems in its own testing. Brake lines could perforate after exposure to seven or more winter driving seasons. In a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the automaker says the perforations could cause brake fluid to leak and that in turn could cause the "driver to misjudge the amount of brake pedal travel required to achieve the desired stopping distance.""

So, even those with the brake line problem... seven or more years till it usually occurs. This is more like a preventative maintenance TSB than a recall. Just upgrade to SS brake lines, or have the dealership replace them with better brake lines during the summer. It's not an instantly safety-critical issue.

I bet the engineers have known about that fault for years. Screw recalls, you should just go straight to lawsuit mode.

Because 'murica

The recall is WQK-47. From what I've heard, the official wording is that "Salt water could splash on the brake lines through a gap in the fuel tank protector, resulting in possible excessive corrosion and leaking brake fluid." From what I've heard, the fix will be to inspect the hard lines, and replace them if they are significantly corroded. If they are not, then a sealant will be applied to the lines.

put a clamp on it to let my laundry finish, removed clamp, called leasing office, new washer installed today.

I am about to go 'Murica on Harris Teeter since their shopping baskets were stuck together and it pinched my finger and sliced the very tip off. I demand a recall on those baskets and a healthy dose of freedom!
